JFK Terminal
4 occupies the site of the former International Arrivals Building (IAB),
which opened in 1957.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey selected JFK IAT, LLC,
to develop and manage the new Terminal 4 in 1997, making it the first
private, non-airline entity to manage an air terminal in the U.S. JFK
IAT is a consortium consisting of Schiphol USA, an affiliate of the
highly-acclaimed Amsterdam Schiphol Airport; LCOR, Inc., a national
real estate developer; and Lehman Brothers, an investment banking firm.
The $1.4 billion redevelopment of the IAB was completed in May 2001
when the new JFK Terminal 4 officially opened its doors.
